Services We Offer

Primary Care Pediatrics

Dr. Abraham is double board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. We offer primary care from visits for expecting parents to young adults up to 22 years old. This is for well child care, routine immunizations, school & sports physicals, as well as sick care. Dr. Abraham has privileges at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center and Mercy Hospital South.

Immunizing our children protects them and those around them. To protect our patients and staff, St. Teresa Pediatrics is only accepting families that immunize their children on time as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Weight Management Clinic

Dr. Nadim Kanafani has joined St. Teresa Pediatrics to help battle childhood obesity. Dr. Kanafani takes a family-based approach to helping kids and teens get healthy. An evaluation of metabolism is part of the visit. We work as consultants in a team-based approach with the patient’s primary care doctors. If a patient has high blood pressure, Dr. Abraham evaluates and treats the high blood pressure.

Tongue-tie Release

Dr. Abraham offers consultation and treatment for babies with tongue-tie that affects their ability to breastfeed, causes their mothers pain, or any other problem associated with infant tongue-tie. Release is offered to infants, and earlier is better for helping the baby adjust to feeding better. It is hard for a baby over 4 months old to learn how to nurse better with new anatomy. However it is still possible. It is recommended to be evaluated and followed up by a lactation consultant for best results. For the baby’s safety, it is required that he or she got the Vitamin K shot at birth. In addition, we evaluate to see if a tight labial frenulum (“lip-tie”) could be affecting feeding.

Dr. Abraham offers releases for tongue and/or lip-tie with either scissors or laser. Both are precise in her hands. The scissors are fast and the laser offers minimal bleeding. She counsels families through what may be the best option for their child.
